On our last #GoodNewsFriday before Christmas, I want to give a shout out to our local #StamfordTexas citizens in their celebration of Christmas 2020. I’ve seen several comments on Facebook about an increase in Christmas lights and decorations around town this year. Driving around myself, I agree! When I was a child, I remember some amazing Christmas displays in town from folks who have since passed away, moved, or grown too old, but now we might have a new generation of decorators rising up. We’ve got some beautiful lights and decorations on homes and businesses alike. I know that it has brightened the spirits of people of all ages, from children to adults to senior citizens.
I haven’t noticed any Clark Griswold-esque displays, but there’s always next year! So whether you want to make your mark with an ostentatiousness display or brighten your neighborhood with something simple and cheery, let’s make this a trend in Stamford for years to come.
“Good News Friday” is a weekly feature spotlighting positive news and activities in the Stamford community as a part of our quest to build a #BetterStamford.
