Today on #GoodNewsFriday, I want to give a shout to the volunteers, donors, and patrons who are working hard to keep the Grand Theatre alive. As I’ve written before, COVID—19 has severely impacted the movie industry, with studios halting practically all new releases. The Grand has moved to offer a variety of older movies, from classics to recent blockbusters. Community partners (from Stamford and around the area) sponsor the cost of the movie. Admission is free and concession sales and donations keep the doors open.
The Grand will show Christmas movies for the remainder of the month, so if you’re in the mood for a relaxing, affordable, and safe holiday evening, grab your mask and head to downtown Stamford. Admission is free, the popcorn is hot, the drinks are cold, and the candy is tasty!
“Good News Friday” is a weekly feature spotlighting the positive activities underway in the Stamford community a part of our quest to build a #BetterStamford.
