Good News Friday: Bulldog Blue
As you may be aware, Stamford is having a pretty incredible softball season. On Thursday night, we took this little girl (and her sister) to watch the fourth-ranked Lady Bulldogs square off against Colorado City in the first game of the Class 2A regional finals. They prevailed 7-1 and with one more win on Saturday, they’ll head to Austin next week for Stamford’s first-ever appearance in the state softball tournament.
Miriam isn’t quite old enough to fully comprehend softball, but she enjoyed the game. She was intrigued by ace pitcher Citlaly’s windup. She was excited to shake her homemade noisemaker that she brought to the game. As we left the stadium, she wanted to take her picture in front of the banners of Stamford’s players, so she posed in front of her friend Shandlee from church.
The Lady Bulldogs are on a historic run and we’re proud of them no matter what happens in the next week. They represent Stamford with excellence and I’m glad that this special set of ladies are in Stamford to be admired by children from Miriam’s age on up. That, friends, is a Bulldog blue #GoodNewsFriday!
