#GoodNewsFriday: a Downtown Destination
You might have seen a few exciting changes and new faces at the Grand Theatre lately! Earlier this month, Preston Cox and Sarah Cox joined us as our new managers. Preston is a Stamford native and after several years residing in Austin, Georgia, and elsewhere, they chose to make their home in Stamford. They have a Leslie Knope-ian enthusiasm for improving the quality of life in Stamford (watch “Parks and Recreation” if you don’t know what I mean).
One of their primary goals is to create a unique experience for theatre-goers from the moment they arrive until the movie starts. That’s why you’ve seen such fun new features—live music before “Elvis,” special concessions for children, pre-show entertainment on the big screen, and charcuterie boxes/book discussion for our new film, “Where the Crawdads Sing.” You’ll also notice that the lobby has video menu boards for the concession stands! And if that wasn’t fun enough, Luke Thane has joined as a board member for the Grand! Luke was our first employee and recently served as stint as interim manager, so we are elated to have him step in as one of the leaders of this community-driven theatre!
Downtown is quickly becoming a hopping entertainment destination, but stop by the Grand Theatre and you’ll find that we’re taking that to the next level!
