#GoodNewsFriday: Brighter Days
We’ve kicked off another round of cleanup within Stamford! For many years, this house has been a deteriorating, gloomy eyesore just one block from Oliver Elementary School. It was a sad testament to once beautiful houses that were far beyond saving. Honestly, it dragged down my mood every time I drove past, so I can only imagine its negative impact on those who live nearby.
Thanks to the hard work of City of Stamford code enforcement officer Manuel Ramos, it was recently cleared for demolition and the Reclaiming Stamford crew (Gary Teichelman and James Washington) have been hard at work this week clearing the property. Two other nearby properties will shortly follow. When elementary school reconvenes after Christmas break, Oliver Street will be a much brighter, hopeful, and optimistic place!
