#GoodNewsFriday: Building Leaders
Today, I am proud to announce some exciting personnel news at the City of Stamford. Casey Chambers joined us in 2018 and has overseen water and wastewater treatment since that time. Jeffrey Pippin joined the City in 2012, following in his father’s footsteps on our public works crew. As of this week, Casey has been promoted to Public Works Director. In this new combined role, Casey will oversee all water treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, streets, and parks operations. Jeffrey has been promoted to Public Works Foreman. He will assist Casey in the field, leading our work crews as they make repairs and upgrades to our water, sewer, streets, and parks.
Casey is an unflappable leader who has been integral to the design of our new water treatment plant. I have been a fan of Casey since we hired him, but his calm management of our water system in the winter storm of February 2021 was truly magnificent. Jeffrey has handled every job imaginable within our public works department. He works for our citizens both day and night, no matter the weather conditions. His daily dedication to improving our community is something I deeply admire.
An organization is only as good as its people. These two men make Stamford better every single day and I am excited to see them take these new roles and expand their role as leaders of our organization.
