#GoodNewsFriday: Burned Out No More
We talk a lot on Good News Friday about our cleanup around town. There’s a reason for that. The goal of a Better Stamford centers around building a more attractive, appealing place to live for both current and future residents. One major obstacle is the sheer volume of vacant lots and abandoned houses. These are unsightly to the neighbors and they are dangerous. They collect trash, wild animals, and criminal activity. Many vacant houses in Stamford are worth rehabbing and if you have the passion for that, I would love to help you find a house to renovate. We have some exciting renovations happening all over town!
We also have many properties just like this one: houses that caught fire and burned, often many years ago, and then were abandoned. This one was a miserable sight to anyone who drove the 200 block of East Handlan Street, particularly the neighbors. Today, it is a whole different sight. The burned out structure has been removed and the lot has been cleared and leveled, ready to be mowed! Are you interested in volunteering to adopt this lot or others around town to mow them until they can be redeveloped? We’d love to partner with you!
“Good News Friday” is a weekly feature spotlighting positive news and activities in the #StamfordTexas community as a part of our quest to build a #BetterStamford.
