‘Twas the day before Christmas and preparations were underway for the 33rd community Christmas Day dinner in Stamford! Volunteers are currently packing fruit, cutting pies, and preparing the ingredients for dressing, with the goal of serving 700 meals or better tomorrow!
This dinner is open to anyone and everyone to eat or volunteer. It was created with the idea that no person should have to be alone for Christmas and that tradition continues with dine in, delivery, and carry out options. The only requirement is a desire for good food or fellowship on Christmas Day.
Serving begins at 11:30 AM in the dining room at St. John’s United Methodist Church at 201 S. Ferguson Street. Delivery and takeout will begin at 11 AM. We'll serve until 1 PM or whenever the last person is served or we run out of food.
If you would like to order a delivery, call the church office at 325-773-2561 or let me know. If you would like to eat in the dining room but don't have transportation, please message me and I’ll make sure you get a ride.
This is one of Stamford’s most special days each year. Persons of every age and background will sit together, eat together, and fellowship together, and remind us of what we are: one community, together. I hope you will join my family in this wonderful event. Merry Christmas!
