#GoodNewsFriday: Emergency Response
You might have seen this in the local news a week or two ago, but this will soon be the new home of the Stamford EMS! For several years, the Stamford EMS (jointly funded by the City of Stamford and the Stamford Hospital District) has been housed in a former service station at the corner of Ferguson and Hamilton Streets, east of downtown. Over the years, this building has become unsuitable. Among other issues, the EMS has been forced to maintain sleeping quarters elsewhere for employees who come from out-of-town to work shifts. This has been an inefficient arrangement in need of change.
Now, thanks to the work of the Stamford EMS Board, the former Stamford Beverage Barn on North Swenson Street will provide a high-quality home to our ambulance service. This location will provide better offices, better sleeping quarters, and a quality place to store our ambulances. As a result, Stamford EMS can provide better response times to the entire community!
As we work to revitalize Stamford in every facet, this will also provide new life to a property that has been vacant and lifeless for many years. Stay tuned for further discussion about other public safety facility upgrades!
“Good News Friday” is a weekly feature spotlighting positive news and activities in the #StamfordTexas community as a part of our quest to build a #BetterStamford.
