#GoodNewsFriday: Good News All The Time
As the sun sets on 2021, I want to use my final Good News Friday to thank each of you who read these weekly updates. I started this project with the idea that even though we get too much negativity shoved into our faces, it is always possible to find something good happening in Stamford, Texas. As I begin the 18th month of this project, I have never found the good news to be lacking.
I close out this year with an image of Jeffrey Pippin, Victor Silguero, and crew working on a sewer line on McHarg Street. This was taken yesterday on the final working day of the year for the guys. It is poetic, because improving our city’s infrastructure is an ongoing project every week and month of the year.
These last two years have challenged our community repeatedly, but each time, our people have rallied to support one another and meet every challenge. As I reflect on 2021, I see long-dormant buildings coming to life. I see new businesses coming to down. I see houses being renovated. I see an active housing market. Make no mistake, much work is left to be done, but many people are interested in Stamford’s future and that is very exciting indeed!
“Good News Friday” is a weekly feature spotlighting positive news and activities in the #StamfordTexas community as a part of our quest to build a #BetterStamford.
