It’s time for another update on the good things happening at our museum! In the fall of 2021, our local museum reopened on the square in downtown Stamford with a new name, The Museum of the West Texas Frontier! Since then, executive director Jewellee Kuenstler and the Museum board and volunteers have been hard at work and there’s a lot happening!
As you may have seen, we have our first high school intern, Madison Bryant! Board Member Craig Gilbert took the lead in designing a fresh, sharp new logo and the Museum has unveiled new Facebook (Museum of the West Texas Frontier) and Instagram (@museum_wtx_frontier) pages and a new website: https://museumofthewesttexasfrontier.com. Check out the “Upcoming Events” page for more information about genealogy meetings, a February family event devoted to dental health on the frontier, and a February coffee centered around a new exhibit on Black History Month.
The Museum has recently applied for 501c3 nonprofit status and has received several substantial gifts to help grow its storytelling in a manner that will be revolutionary and world class. If you’d like to support the Museum, tax-deductible donations and volunteer opportunities are always accepted. The Museum is open Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and by appointment. I’ll leave you with our newly-adopted mission statement that will guide the Museum into its bold and exciting future:
“The Museum of the West Texas Frontier is the custodian of the heritage and culture of the Stamford area, providing engaging educational programs and exhibitions with the purpose of educating the present and future generations about its unique and rich history.”
“Good News Friday” is a weekly feature spotlighting positive news and activities in the #StamfordTexas community as a part of our quest to build a #BetterStamford.
I ask you if I could donate one of my painting and I never got a response from you.
